Superman is arguably one of the most iconic superheroes in history, known for his incredible strength, sense of justice, and iconic suit. Created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1938, the character has captured the hearts of millions worldwide, inspiring countless adaptations, comic books, and films. But did you know that he was originally envisioned as a villain? Despite this early misstep, Superman quickly became a hero and an icon of hope. Over the years, numerous actors have donned the iconic red and blue suit. From Christopher Reeve’s timeless portrayal in the 1978 film to Henry Cavill’s modern take on the DCEU, these men have helped shape Superman’s legacy.

Reeve is arguably the most iconic actor ever to portray Superman, having starred in four films throughout the 70s and 80s. Initially, he was almost turned down for the role due to his thin frame.

Fortunately, after months of intense training, the actor was finally able to work out and become the embodiment of this hero. Besides, Reeve was very dedicated and performed many of his own stunts in all his iconic Superman films.
