From “Ghostbusters” To “Robocop,” These Kids Shows Were Based On Movies Meant For Grown-Ups

RoboCop was one of the most successful films of the 80s. It was kind of a surprising choice to be adapted into a children’s cartoon. However, the animated series was able to tone down the violence and focus more on the heroics of the titular character.

The RoboCop series was produced by Marvel Productions, the company behind Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. This show was created with a younger audience in mind, so the movie’s violence was toned down. Still, it kept the original lead.
